What this site does

Meticulous Archive is a map-first way to find Magic: The Gathering events and the local game stores that host them. Search a city, pan the map, open a store’s profile, and see what’s coming up — RCQs, prereleases, weekly locals. Bookmark the events you care about, see them on a calendar, and plan your season around them.

Why it exists

This site was built in the aftermath of Spicerack shutting down in 2026. For years, spicerack.gg was a pillar of the competitive Magic community — the place players checked for RCQs and locals, and the platform organizers trusted to run their events. When it went dark, it left a real hole in how this community finds its next game.

We hold sincere admiration for what Spicerack was, and we consider it this site’s predecessor in spirit. Evan Farrell built something that took thousands of players to thousands of tables, and he carried it with a care for the community that showed in every corner of it. Meticulous Archive was built with the hope of carrying the torch he lit — not to replace what Spicerack was, but to keep its core promise alive.

What we’re focused on

That promise is simple: Magic players deserve an easy way to find, bookmark, and plan their attendance at RCQs and locals. Everything here — the map, the store profiles, the bookmarks, the calendar — exists in service of getting you to your next event with as little friction as possible.
